The yearly ITS World Congress has once again come and gone. As always, there are thousands of stories that could be told. The most important story, to us anyway, is that of the Click 656 traffic cabinet interface device and how it’s making intersection detection as simple as possible while still providing all the data you could possibly need. You can learn about that story here.

Next is the Honda exhibit where they were showing off their SAFE SWARM technology. SAFE SWARM tries to mimic nature’s swarming tendencies to make roads safer. Vehicle-to-vehicle communication helps make decisions to keep traffic moving, even when people driving vehicles have no clue what the hazard may be yet. Here is a link with the videos Honda showed to highlight this tech.

Toyota showed off its ITS simulator which highlights the ITS tech they have been using since 2015.

Here the Center for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles shows two autonomous vehicles being developed in the UK. They hope these will be in full development by 2020 for use in central London and other large British Cities.

Next is the product of Navya and Keolis. This is an example of their autonomous bus. Currently there are 60 of them working in different parts of the world. This is especially interesting to people in the US because this system will be operating in Las Vegas in about a week from now, making it the first completely autonomous, fully electric shuttle ever to be deployed on a public roadway in the United States. Here is a link with more information.

Of course, this is only a small bit of what went down at ITS International. Every year we’re excited to see what the ITS world had to offer as well as to show off what we’ve been working on. You can always contact us to see what we're up to.
