PROVO, UT—Since 2007, Pulse Magazine has sought to tell the Wavetronix story by sharing its unique insight on a variety of transportation topics while keeping readers up to date with the latest Wavetronix news and product information. Now that message has gone digital with the launch of the Wavetronix App, a tablet application that brings an enhanced version of Pulse Magazine to the palm of your hand.

“The Wavetronix App is an exciting step forward for us,” says Steve Baxter, the vice president of marketing at Wavetronix. “It’s a testament not only to our talented team but also to the importance Pulse Magazine has for us and our customers.”

The Wavetronix App, available for free download at the Apple Store, the Android Marketplace and the Window’s Store, acts as a library where readers from around the world can have access to the articles, columns, case studies, how-to guides and news items that makes up Pulse Magazine.

The app also allows for easy sharing of individual articles. With a push of a button, pieces of content can be shared over social media networks or email.

Zac Richins, a graphic designer at Wavetronix, built the app and says he’s excited by the capabilities and potential the app has to bring worthwhile content to Pulse readers.

“One of the most exciting features is the ability to bring together all this content that has to do with the articles from across the web that you’d normally have to go out to find,” Richins said. “This curation of content makes the experience more engaging.”

Nearly every item in the digital editions of Pulse Magazine features links to online content including studies, reports, videos and product information. The online edition also includes interactive, animated features that bring a whole new level of engagement to readers.

How the Wavetronix App came to be is a testament to the Wavetronix culture of innovation and empowerment employees enjoy. Richins said there was no assignment to build an application, but he saw the potential and started working on it in his spare time. Soon, he had a working prototype that caused his enthusiasm to spread, bringing others in the marketing department together to work on the project.

“That was an exciting thing,” Richins said. “The whole department worked on it together. We have all these talented people and that collaboration made it that much more enriching.”

Currently, five issues of Pulse are available for download, including a special UK edition. Since the launch of the app in April, it has been used over 350 times for more than 2,300 content views.
