The SmartSensor Advance brings the reliability and accuracy of the SmartSensor to dilemma zone and green light extension applications. Like the original SmartSensor, SmartSensor Advance uses patented Digital Wave Radar™ technology to measure presence and speed of vehicles in motion and it is still the traffic industry's only patented auto-configuring traffic sensor.
SmartSensor Advance installs above-ground and is specifically designed for installation at signal-controlled intersections. With a detection range of 500 feet, the SmartSensor Advance offers five foot zone resolution in up to eight user-definable zones, providing traffic managers with accurate detection and effective dilemma zone management.
The sensor's performance is unaffected by wind, weather or by changes in temperature and light. The unique auto-configuration and operation software has been developed especially for Pocket PC® handheld devices and laptops; and the SmartSensor Advance is fully compatible with Wavetronix Click! products. Flexible connectivity makes it easy to integrate and operate SmartSensor Advance with existing controllers or as a supplement to existing traffic management systems; dual communication ports make it possible to integrate the sensor with different systems simultaneously.
SmartSensor Advance is manufactured using a modern,automated process which integrates antennas and surface mount components for consistent production and assembly. It contains no serviceable parts, such as batteries, that need to be replaced over time,and sensor configuration settings are protected in Flash memory.
