WavetronixPROVO, Utah—January 27, 2004—Wavetronix LLC, the world leader in Digital Wave Radar™ traffic sensors, announced it has recently shipped and installed several SmartSensor™ radar devices along highways in northern, central and southern Taiwan.
The sensors were installed as part of an aggressive ITS project to improve traffic detection and management along Taiwan's highways 66, 82 and 88. The SmartSensors are being integrated with WirelessPlug GPRS modems for communication of traffic data back to a central location.
Taiwan's ITS improvement project is being handled jointly between the Taiwan Area National Freeway Bureau and China Engineering Consultants, Inc. (CECI). The SmartSensors were installed by SunSky International, Ltd., Wavetronix' exclusive dealer and authorized representative in Taiwan.
Mike Rose, Sales Manager for Wavetronix, says the recent installments bring to 19 the number of SmartSensors currently deployed throughout Taiwan. "We are very excited about the opportunity Wavetronix has to continue to partner with Taiwan in solving their ITS needs with SmartSensor."
