LINDON, Utah—February 03, 2008—Transportation officials in Pinellas County, Florida, have purchased 30 SmartSensor HD units for a mid-block detection system on McMullen Booth Road. The sensors are part of a new advanced traffic management system in Pinellas County that includes upgrades to intersection controllers, closed-circuit video and dynamic message signs.
A request for construction bids was issued in February and installation is scheduled to take place later this year. The Pinellas County system is the latest Florida project to include Wavetronix products; currently, Florida has the greatest number of SmartSensor and SmartSensor HD units in deployment.
