WavetronixLINDON, Utah—June 09, 2009—Transportation officials in the South African city of Durban (eThekwini Municipality) have ordered several additional SmartSensor HD units for immediate deployment. The purchase of these sensors is part of the city’s initiative to improve the effectiveness of its traffic management system.
In the fall of 2008, Durban officials purchased and installed five SmartSensor HD units along the M4 highway. Now, 22 additional units will be installed along the M4 North highway in eThekwini, Kwazulu Natal, as part of the region’s efforts to reduce traffic congestion.
